Life...

So it's been quite a while since I wrote here. Hummmmmm. Life has been busy. Evan turned 6 months old last Monday (can't believe that!!). People always told me that it went by too fast and to be honest I never believed people because when you are in the "newborn stage" it doesn't feel like time is moving fast at all!!!! Looking back though it does feel like FOREVER ago. And I did survive so there is HOPE for all your prego mommas out there! Having a baby is such a joy! :) Dave's parents decided to come up kind of last minute which worked out great because we decided to have Evan dedicated yesterday at church. It was awesome to have our family and friends there with us. Well Evan is sleeping so I should try and get something done. Enjoy the pictures...

Roll Over??

Well, yesterday Evan turned 5 months old!!! Hard to believe! A couple days ago I was on the computer and turned around to see this and grabbed my camera as quickly as possible!! He did roll himself back onto his back but both knees are touching so I think it counts as a roll over! :) Yahoo!

Beautiful Day

Yesterday was a gorgeous day in CT and we wanted to do something outside so we decided to go for a "walk" up Case Mountain here in town. Our camera still needs to be charged from vacation ( I know I know) so the pictures are from Dave's cell phone...hope they look ok! At the top it was definitely windy...hence my wind blown hair! Ha! Evan just loves being outside. When we were on vacation he loved going for walks on the beach. He did fall asleep on our way down the mountain :). It was a great day!!!

Long Time No Blog!

Feels like a while since I last blogged...I joined Facebook so I've been on that quite a bit! ALMOST feels like an addiction sometimes...ha ha ha. We had a busy summer and are glad to be back in the swing of things. While on vacation Evan started eating rice cereal (picture of his first time)...hard to believe that on 9/20 he will be 5 months old already! I wish I had a picture of the front of our house so you could all see how our lawn is COVERED in leaves. The large tree is "sick" and has been for years (so our neighbor tells us) and starts to shed leaves in Aug. I will have to get a pic and blog that! Ha ha. Enjoy the couple of pics...

Happy Anniversary!!

Today is our 5th wedding anniversary! I know right...5 years!?!? We celebrated last night while we were still in Myrtle Beach. Dave's parents watched Evan so we could go out which was great! We have a nice dinner at Bonefish Grill and then played our first and only game of mini golf. In years past we have played MANY games of mini golf. We actually tied this year :). I do have a picture that I'll add soon. I love my husband more today than 5 years ago. He is an amazing husband and father. I couldn't do it without him.

Pictures!!

We arrived in Myrtle Beach Saturday around 4:30pm. Distance between VA and Myrtle is about 5 1/2 hours...of course with a baby it took us arounf 7 1/2 hours! Evan did really good in the car though. I'm already dreading the drive home...we are going to stop half way though. Side note...Evan turned 4 months on Aug. 20!!! Hard to believe! All for now...enjoy the pics...

The First of Many!

Just thought I would share a couple pics from our vacation so far! It's been a blast...different with little boy but still having a great time. We have fallin into a little bit of a routine...bring him to the beach mid morning when its time for him to nap, Dave sets up a little tent we bought to protect his white white skin he falls asleep and we get some sun! In the afternoon we either lay by the pool or one goes to the beach while Evan sleeps at the house. It works!! Its sad that it's already Thursday but good thing is that we have another week of vacation! Yahoo!! I'll share more pics soon...

Dr. Appt. & Olympics!

Evan had his 4 month old Dr. Appt. today! He won't actually be 4 months until the 20th but we will be on vacation then so it works! He weighed in at 13lbs. 8oz. and he got 3 shots which was no fun. His poor little face got beet red and he screamed! This afternoon he was been fine though, thank God! Evan has really started "talking" a lot more...Dave noticed that since he has been home. It's SOOOO cute! We will start food when we return from vacation...that will be a whole new world! Ha ha...

Does anyone have a love/hate relationship with the Olympics like me?!?! Love to watch, hate to stay up late and watch them! Why is all the good stuff on so late (a.k.a. Michael Phelps races, ha ha) ?!?! I do love Olympic time though!

Random...

OK so this is going to be totally random but up until about 2 weeks ago I had not seen the "Back to the Future" movies in their entirety. Dave could not believe it so we watched the first one before he left for Chile and the other 2 when he got home. I actually really liked them! Dave can't understand why I haven't seen so many "classic movies". I actually got to watch the Star Wars movies IN ORDER!! I had never seen the first ones!! Anyway with all that said...are there any other movies that are a MUST SEE??

It's been great having Dave home!! Unfortunately he brought home with him a cold like virus which he has so graciously shared with me, ha ha! We leave Friday night for VA Beach and CAN'T WAIT! After VA we're going to Myrtle for vacation and to see Dave's parents since they live there now. No pictures to share now but I'm sure I'll have LOTS to share over the next couple weeks.

Dad's B'day

Today is my dad's birthday! We had a great party on Sunday to celebrate...lots of kiddos! My dad is the best and we love him!! 3 more days until Dave gets home...yes there is a count down now :). Enjoy the pics!!!

Happy Birthday!

Today is Dave's 27th birthday! He is not here to celebrate because he is still in Chile. We hope he had a good day! Thought this was a good pic of him and his brother-in-law Mike. GO BOSTON!! On a side note we have been doing good while he has been gone. We are excited for him to come home of course...Friday!!

Little Visitor...

We had a little visitor yesterday...Ronan, my sister Jen's middle son!! He just loves Evan! Whenever he is around he says "let me have him" (he wants to hold him). It's pretty funny. Unfortunately Evan looks a little scared in the one with the two of them...his big eyes!!! On a side note...things have been going well since Dave left. He comes home 1 week from today! YAHOO! Evan really has been a good boy. Since he's been gone it really makes me appreciate him all the more. I can't imagine doing this alone ALL THE TIME! That's all I've got for now!

And He's Off...

Well...Dave left yesterday afternoon for Chile until Aug.8, 2008! It was definitely sad to say goodbye since this is the first missions trip since 1998 that we haven't gone together! I know can you believe that!!? This is going to be an awesome time for him and the team so I'm excited about that. Nails Nails Nails

Went to get pedicures with Laura and Jen tonight!! It was delightful...I sure do love to get my toes painted! I hate this picture of me just so everyone knows but it's the only one we got of the 3 of us. I went grocery shopping earlier in the midst of a DOWN POUR! I got home and was SOAKED. Evan wasn't cause he was nice and covered :). My hair literally looked like I just got out of the shower...that could be why my hair looks so bad in this picture. Ha ha. Aren't we always our worst critic!?!? And now the sun is shining and Evan & I might go for a walk in a bit!

Pool Time

Evan had his first experience in my parents pool on Thursday! It was really sunny and super hot but by the time we got him in the sun had gone behind the clouds. Of course it was still hot out! Cute outfit right?! His little shirts says Surfer Dude, ha ha! Dave was just asking me last night when this heat is going to go away here in CT...I had no answer! We are so excited to go to VA Beach in about a month with my family. The water will be nice and warm down there :)! All for now...

Chile!

This past Saturday, my sister Jen, hosted a "goodbye" party for Dave's sister Laura and her husband Mike. They are leaving one week from tomorrow, same time that Dave leaves, to spend 6 months in Chile working with a local church there. The party had LOTS of kiddos which made it extra fun :)! Dave (and Laura's) mom, Louise, is up visiting from Myrtle Beach so it was great to have her there! We are going to miss Mike & Laura while they are gone but know that this is going to be such a good thing for them!

Family Nap

OK so I promise that not EVERY blog will be about my little boy but I couldn't resist putting this picture up. After a long day of work for Dave yesterday we took our first "Family Nap". I, of course, woke up before these two and HAD to snap a few pictures! So precious! Evan has started to change so much lately. He is 3 months old today!! He smiles a lot and even laughs sometimes. Last night he slept for 8 1/2 hours and I was THRILLED! Monday starts a long week for us with VBS starting. Dave always does a GREAT job but the prep work is always stressful. It is fun too of course :)!

Happy Baby

Can I just say that Evan is SUCH a happy baby! Especially in the morning. He will just lay on his changing table, kick his legs, move his arms all around and give his mom and dad big smiles!

Except of course when he is hungry but don't you get cranky when your hungry?! It's hard to believe he is almost 3 months old now! He is getting so big but is still our little peanut. Summers are always busy for Dave & I with church activities etc. Next week VBS (Vacation Bible School) starts and that's always a super busy week for Dave. And then in 3 weeks Dave goes to Chile for 10 days. I am not really sure WHAT to expect during that time.

First Blog!

First Blog yahoo! Life has been so great and different since the birth of our son Evan in April! He is SUCH a joy and we love him so much. These pictures are from his very first 4th of July fireworks! Every year we have a cookout at my parents house and we all walk down to the fireworks in town. Very much a tradition. Doesn't he look so cute with his hat! No, it wasn't that cold out we just didn't want any bugs to get him. He did GREAT, once he fell asleep he did not wake up til we were home.
