Far too long...

My goodness it's been a long time since I wrote!!! Let's see where to start...

Fall has been beautiful here in CT and I'll leave you with a pic of my cute boy from when Dave was raking last week! He LOVES to be outside these days! Even in the cold weather he cries when it's time to come in. He's such a funny kid and discovers new things every day which is so cool to watch.
On that note I'm pregnant again!! Yep, due 5/29 so kids will be 25 months apart. I have been feeling good which I am so thankful for. We had an ultrasound yesterday (10weeks, 5 days) and it was crazy! I'm always amazed at ultrasounds and God of course! I had looked at Evan's 8 week one right before my appt to just remember and all he was was a blob on the screen! This one we could make out the head, arms, legs, cord forming and baby was moving around, AMAZING. And get this...the baby had the EXACT same heart rate as Evan did at his 8 week one...166!!! Weird right? Does this mean another boy???? Hummmmmm we will see!!!
I recently celebrated my 28th birthday on Wednesday! Had a good day :). Went out with my sisters last night which is always a good time!! Love my sisters (you too Kristin even though your weren't there)! Although I realized I haven't had ANY birthday cake yet!!! Think I might make cupcakes this afternoon :0)! haha.
Alright time for lunch so I better get going!

...Dave and I were married!!! Can't believe it's been 6 (awesome) years! Dave's mom is in town and what perfect timing for us to go on our first overnight without Evan. We ended up staying at the Marriott in downtown Hartford and it was awesome. The hotel is brand new and really nice. Went to dinner at Trumbull Kitchen and it was fabulous. Great server, good food and fantastic company ;)!! Haha. It was a great way to spend our 6th anniversary. On a side note Evan was sooo good for my mother in law! Even woke up at 7:45am NOT FAIR!!!! He would do that when I'm not here.

Myrtle Beach is coming soon enough...ahhhhh vacation...

Things I do on Vacation...

- Watch as much TLC (What not to wear, Cake Boss etc.) as I can since I don't have it at home!

- Read People magazine

- Read a book by the water for as long as I can...ahhhh love it.

- Shower at the END of the day after I'm beached out!

- Rarely wear make up :)

- Pack too much which I am committed to NOT doing for Myrtle.

- Try not to go on the computer!

Honestly though vacation is a time for us to just RELAX and be rejuvenated. We are sooo looking forward to Myrtle Beach.

Actually we are going on our first overnight tonight WITHOUT Evan! Dave's mom is in town and is coming to spend the night here! We aren't going far but are excited to celebrate our anniversary! 6 years Saturday!! Wahooooo!

Hmmmm...

Well it's been a LONG couple of weeks over there. Dave did not go out the the country this year (yay!) but has been doing " at home" missions stuff. Meaning they have been doing things in the community etc. Here's the website with pics if you'd like to take a look! http://www.onlinemissions.info/apps/mlink/missionlink.jsp?id=Updates&tripID=33&MenuType=1&a=merge

While I am soooo thankful he didn't leave this year it has been almost just as hard as if he were actually gone. I've been trying to work when I can so it feels like we've barely seen each other! Evan has been ATTACHED to me lately (more than usual) which is a tad annoying. LOVE HIM but it gets old quick. Very draining plus he is EVERYWHERE! I have found trying to go up the stairs MANY times...do you think a gate is in order?!?! Hahha.

Anyway, I've thought about lots of things that I could blog about the past couple weeks but have just been lazy in doing so. Evan & I are flying to VA beach Saturday morning! YESSSSS! Dave will drive Sunday afternoon after church. We'll only be there til Thurs night cause we are going to a wedding Fri night which should be good times! THEN we head to Myrtle on 9/5!! The nice thing about going in Sept is there really arent many people there and the weather is still great. We are READY for a vacation. I can't wait to chill and watch TLC!!!!!!

I have signed myself up for a couple things this year...being a Bible study leader for 7 weeks this fall and running our MOPS group at church. I have kind of just gotten sick of just being an attender at church. It was a hard transition for me to stop helping with our youth ministry small groups but it was just getting to be too much with Evan and also since I didn't go on Sunday nights they need someone relevent!Everything is for a season right??!!

2 of my sisters and I went to a late movie to see Julie & Julia...I liked it! There was one random swear that soooo didn't need to be there but overall I really enjoyed the movie. I'm so thankful for my 3 sisters! :0)

So how was that for a random post?! Ha...need to go finish getting ready for my grandma's 80th b'day party this afternoon.

Date Night

Dave and I had the chance to go out on a date last Monday night (thanks Moriah). We had a delightful time! We went to Burton's Grill and on Sundays and Mondays they have outside music :)! The weather was perfect for sitting outside. While sitting at dinner we found ourselves trying to remember the last time we were out just the 2 of us...we still can't remember! I began to think that that isn't necessarily a good thing. I think it's sooo important to have dates with your spouse every now and then so that's something we will need to work on. After dinner we went to see Night at the Museum 2. It was pretty funny! Anyway it's so easy to get creative with dates when the weather is nice so stay tuned....:0)!!

First 5k and I made it!!!

Ok so I can't believe it's been over a week since I started this blog! VBS was last week and it was busy to say the least...awesome too of course :). On to the race...What a great day we had at the Red Dress 5k race! I was definitely nervous going into it but felt great! I ran the whole time (which I am quite proud of) and finished at 31min 45sec! Not too shabby for my first time! the bad news is that I have not run since then. So bad right?!?! Tomorrow is another day (LOL) Here are some pics...

Sisters # 1 (Melissa), #2 (Jen), #3 (me!) and #4 (Kristin)

What a group of ladies!!

Dad & Mom even came out to watch all their girls!

Do you ever go through phases of the foods you like to eat?!?! I have been loving strawberry shortcake lately!! YUM! I make the biscuits with bisquick though. None of this angle food cake stuff :0). Enjoy the holiday weekend!

Just like THAT!

I get asked ALL the time...is Evan walking yet? And the answer is NO...crawling EVERYWHERE but no interest in walking. Just 2 days ago he all of a sudden starting pulling himself up to stand! Found him in his crib standing for the first time yesterday! He now crawls to me and climbs up my legs. I am definitely realizing that Evan does things at in his own timing. Enjoy the pic even though it's a tad blurry...:)

Outside or Inside?

So...I am still "training" for the 5k in July but I must confess that the first time I ran OUTSIDE was Monday!!! And can I just say that it is COMPLETELY different from running on a treadmil! I can do pretty good on a treamil but found myself getting tired WAY quicker outside. And this rainy yucky weather we are having isn't helping the progress needing to be had. Oh well...I ran the farthest yet on the treadmil at the gym this morning! Yay!

A Buck?!?!

Ok, so I needed a galloon of whole milk today after church. I had endless possibilities...Target, Bj's, grocery store etc. BUT if I had gone into one of those store I would have come out with ONLY milk. So after contemplating I decided to get a little bit of gas (cause the car was on empty!) and get the milk at the gas station not being sure what it was going to cost me! We buy our regular 1% at the gas station cause it's cheap but I knew the whole would be more. $3.49 it was!!! It would have cost me $2.42 at Bj's and $2.80 at Target but you know what? A buck was not worth the inconvience ;)! That's my lesson for the day!

Updates...

Hummmm it's been a long time since I blogged! I've thought about blogging things here and there and always forget! It's been a busy past couple months! Evan turned 1 and has been EVERYWHERE crawling! He currently has 10 teeth and is almost in need of his first "official" haircut! We've trimmed the back a tad :)! I've been working most weekends at the Gap which is nice but makes things busy!

I made it a whole year nursing Evan and while I was sad to see it go it brings almost a sense of freedom!!!!! I know he isn't my last either ;)!! haha.

Because of this new freedom I have been going to the gym!! Yay! I made it there 4 times last week and was quite proud of myself. My sisters have convinced me to do a 5k with them in July so I have been "training" for that as well. It feels great! I have taken a few classes at the gym and really like the spin class and step areboics class! Although I went to a class last night and COULD not keep up! So frustrating but I did stay! Ha ha.

Well I think that's all for now. Next blog won't be months away...at least I hope!

Happy 1st Birthday Evan!!!

It's so hard to put into words how crazy fast this year has gone by! To think that this time last year Evan was 12 hours old (born at 5:38am)!! He is such a sweet boy. He smiles and laughs all the time. He is moving around all over the floor now! He currently has 4 teeth on top, 3 on the bottom and working on the fourth! It's been an interesting couple of weeks! We go for his 1 year appt. on Wednesday so will post his "stats" then! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Saturday...

Saturday is an exciting day for me! Not only is it one month til my boy turns '1' but I am going to NYC! First WHOLE day away from my little boy! Nursing, while a great thing, has certain limitations so the whole day gone will be great/interesting. I am still nursing and hoping to continue until 4/20 ha ha! Then I'm DONE! I am SO excited to be able to go with my sisters and nieces...luckily the littlest sister lives there and will be our "tour guide". I can see us on the subway now...ha ha ha. Stay tuned for pics and stories :)!

Could it be true??

Today it is absolutely gorgeous in CT!!! After such a long winter could spring really be on its way?! I HOPE SO! Although...knowing New England weather we will probably get snow this week. Ha ha! After church this morning Evan & I came home, ate lunch and just went on a delightful walk! We have a GREAT neighborhood for walking so I'm ready for the nice weather and the exercise! I'm hoping to head over to Evergreen Walk in a bit to do some more walking.

It looks like Evan is finally on the mend with all his ailments! Praise God!! It's so hard to believe he will be 1 next month. Where did this year go???? Hummmmm.

Well it's been a bit since I added a pic so here goes :) And now I'm ready for a nap..........

Not so Fast!!!

Just when I thought we were done being sick Evan got PINK EYE today!! How in the world did he get that you ask? GOOD question. We haven't been much of anywhere these days with him being sick and then me being sick so who knows. He woke up from his nap this morning with a goopy eye...blahhhhh! Luckily the Dr.'s office just gave us a perscription...no appt needed!! Good thing germs can't go through computers...ha ha!

First Time!

Well...after 10 months Evan got his first virus/cold :(. Poor little guy. The first few days were pretty rough with him not sleeping, sneezing and coughing all the time! It sure is hard to go back from them sleeping through the night!! Luckily I think he is on the upside of this virus unfortunately he has shared his germs with me! Caring is sharing I guess! Ha ha. I just hope it doesn't stay around. Keep us in your prayers!

On another note...my little baby is going to be 1 next month, 4/20!! Where has the year gone?!?! Sigh...

9 Months old!

It's SO hard to believe that my little boy is 9 months old today! Where has the time gone?! People always said that it would go by fast and I didn't believe them...well now I do!! Evan had his "well visit" yesterday and he's weighing in at 16lbs 10oz...such a little squirt! He's in the 5%tile but he keeps growing so its all good. He does new stuff all the time and I never get over how cute he is. He is SO happy and laughs a lot which is such a blessing to Dave & I. We just love our little boy!!
